Dolly Parton has released a heartfelt new song in memory of her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean, who passed away on Monday, March 3.
Carl Dean, who was married to Dolly for nearly six decades, passed away at the age of 82. Dolly’s team confirmed his death on social media and shared that his funeral would be a private event, attended only by immediate family.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t express the love we shared for over 60 years,” Dolly wrote at the time of his passing.
On Friday, Dolly expressed her gratitude to fans for their support, saying, “I can’t reach out personally to each of you, but just know it has meant the world to me. He is now in God’s arms, and I am at peace with that. I will always love you.”
Carl Dean was known for being a very private person, especially in contrast to Dolly’s public career. However, Dolly frequently spoke about their special bond over the years. It was clear that they loved each other deeply and had figured out how to make their marriage work in an industry where many relationships don’t last.
