Loretta Lynn, the legendary country singer, once shared a story about seeing what she believed was the spirit of Johnny Cash. This happened while she was recording one of his songs.
“I looked up and thought I saw someone in a gray suit walk in. It looked just like Johnny,” she said in 2016 during a studio session. “The studio was dark, like it usually is during recording, so I stopped singing and said, ‘I could have sworn Johnny Cash just walked through that door.'”
This wasn’t the first time Loretta claimed to have a brush with the supernatural. She even wrote a song called This Haunted House about her experiences. Over the years, she’s said to have seen Civil War soldiers and mourning women, so spotting Johnny Cash’s ghost wasn’t entirely out of the ordinary for her.

Did Johnny Cash Visit Loretta Lynn?
Johnny Cash passed away in 2003, but his legacy remains strong. Loretta was a big fan of both Johnny and his wife, June Carter Cash, and after their deaths, she became close friends with their son, John Carter Cash.
Later in her career, Loretta chose to record music at the Johnny Cash Cabin Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The studio, built in 1978, was still active when she recorded her 2016 album, Full Circle.
During one of these sessions, Loretta said she briefly saw Johnny’s ghost. It was only for a moment, but she was sure it was him. She mentioned the encounter while still in the studio, though the details of exactly when and where it happened remain unclear. It might have been during the Full Circle recording or on a different occasion, but she was certain it happened while working on one of his songs.
