Beyoncé‘s foray into the country genre with her latest album is causing quite a stir and rewriting the record books.

Spotify made an exciting announcement on Instagram last Friday, revealing that Cowboy Carter has smashed the record for the most streams in a single day in 2024 thus far.

“This is also the first time a country album holds the title this year,” Spotify shared in the caption of their post.

The album’s triumphs don’t end there. Cowboy Carter has also claimed the crown for the biggest debut to date, garnering more first-day streams on Amazon Music worldwide than any of Beyoncé’s previous albums.

Furthermore, it marks a significant milestone as the country album with the highest first-day streams by a female artist in Amazon Music’s history.

The album’s lead single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” didn’t just perform admirably—it soared to the summit of the charts, making its debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

This accomplishment solidifies Beyoncé’s position as a trailblazer, as she becomes the first Black woman to top the Hot Country Songs chart.

Beyoncé Unveiled The Creative Journey of Cowboy Carter

Beyoncé took to social media to offer fans an inside look into the creative journey behind her latest album.

In a heartfelt post, she revealed, “This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive.”

Rather than just a foray into country music, Beyoncé described Cowboy Carter as a narrative transcending the perceived “limitations” it once imposed on her.

“I hope this music is an experience, creating another journey where you can close your eyes, start from the beginning and never stop.”
