In a recent conversation on Bobby Bones Presents: The BobbyCast, now available on Netflix, she joined host Bobby Bones to talk about how she handles social media, especially while preparing for a busy time on the road.

When asked about her direct messages, the country singer said, “I don’t go there too often. It’s a scary, dark place.”

Avoiding her inbox has become an important part of getting ready for her upcoming Cloud 9 Tour. Over time, she’s realized that taking care of her mental health matters just as much as physical training and rehearsals. To protect her mindset, she’s set clear boundaries for herself.

“It’s been really relevant lately to me. I’m obviously in tour prep, you know, like doing all the things physically. And I had this epiphany the other day where it’s like, I am disciplined about my physical prep, my mental prep has to be just as important,” she explained. “And so stuff like reading the comments, like I actually have to not do it. Like you just can’t. And if I do see something, like I have to tell my brain that can’t affect you today. You can’t dwell on it and let it fester.”

She also shared that therapy has helped her avoid holding onto negativity and better manage the moments when she does come across hurtful comments online.

“It’s more so been like a, that can’t affect me today so I’m gonna move on…but in my head too it’s like 99% of the time, for me, it’s gonna be bad so I’m just like I don’t need to know. Screw y’all.”

At the end of the day, Moroney admits she’s still human. Even though she works hard not to let negativity affect her, there are still moments when it gets to her. Because of that, she’s learned the best approach is simply to avoid it altogether and “not look.”

That same mindset carries into how she prepares physically for touring. With her major 2026 headline run starting May 26, the “Medicine” singer says she begins her strict routine around May 1.

Getting ready for the Cloud 9 Tour means she trains in a weighted vest during rehearsals to simulate the heavy stage outfits she wears, which can weigh around 10 to 15 pounds.

“When I’ve done the performance I’m like oh like I am not in shape for this…Singing with a weighted vest on a treadmill, doing that.”

Alongside that, she’s added daily habits like red light therapy, saunas, and cold plunges, while cutting out alcohol and focusing on a clean diet. All of this is leading up to what she believes will be the biggest and strongest tour of her career.

“I’ve never taken touring as serious, like as far as like the prep for it as I’m doing right now… I want it to be the best show…so just really locking in,” she admits.

The Cloud 9 Tour begins next month and will run through October 2026, with 43 shows across major arenas in North America, Europe, and the UK.

On top of that, she’s heading into the 61st ACM Awards with nine nominations, including Entertainer of the Year. The ceremony will air live on Sunday, May 17, streaming exclusively on Prime Video for viewers in more than 240 countries and territories at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. PT from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
