Country music legend George Strait will be honored as a 2025 class recipient of a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. Strait is included in the recording category alongside Keith Urban! See the full list of honorees.

The Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce selected the honorees from a large pool of nominations during a meeting on June 14. The official list was announced to the public just yesterday, June 24.

Strait’s star unveiling ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard has not been scheduled yet. Recipients have up to two years from the date of selection to organize their star ceremonies before they expire.

According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame website, “Upcoming star ceremonies are usually announced ten days prior to dedication.”

As of 2023, there are 2,752 stars on the Walk of Fame. And now “The King” is joining!

The news of George Strait’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction was shared on his official social media pages.

Fans were absolutely ecstatic about the news of Strait’s star. A lot of his supporters said it was about time.

“Wow I’m surprised this hasn’t already happened! So well-deserved! The King!”
“He’s just now getting it????”
“Finally!!! Congratulations, George, the only King of Country!”
“Well deserved, long overdue.”

This honor comes on the heels of the announcement of George Strait’s brand-new album.

Just last month, Strait surprised fans at his concert in Indianapolis with the announcement of his 31st studio album, Cowboys And Dreamers.

Telling the audience that the album was in the works, Strait performed a few songs from the album, giving the lucky fans in attendance a taste of what’s to come.

Additionally, the “Write This Down” singer revealed who he was dedicating the new record to.

That turned out to be his longtime manager Erv Woolsey, fiddle player Gene Elders, and road manager Tom Foote, all of whom sadly passed away this year and were good friends of Strait.

“I’m dedicating this record to my longtime manager and friend Erv Woolsey and my longtime fiddle player and friend Gene Elders, who we lost on the same day, March 20, 2024, as well as my longtime friend and road manager Tom Foote, who we lost on April 29, 2024. I will never forget all of the good times we had together. May they rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Cowboys And Dreamers will be the first album Strait has released in five years. The album is set to drop on September 6 and will include an exciting collaboration with Chris Stapleton titled, “Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame.” (Fitting, huh?)
