Her turning point came when country artist Red Steagall recognized her talent, prompting her journey to Nashville. Encouraged by her mother, Reba recorded a demo that ultimately led to her signing with PolyGram/Mercury Records. This marked the transformative leap from the ranches of Oklahoma to the illustrious stages of Nashville, signifying the commencement of Reba McEntire’s legendary career in country music.
