Alan Jackson has had one of the greatest careers in country music. He’s earned a spot as one of the most loved and influential artists the genre has ever seen.

Over his many years in music, Jackson has had more than 35 No. 1 hits and a long list of Top 10 songs. His best-known tracks include “Chattahoochee,” “Remember When,” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” He’s sold tens of millions of records and is still one of the top-selling country artists ever.
In 2021, fans were devastated to learn that Jackson had been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT). It’s an incurable nerve disorder that gets worse over time. In an interview with TODAY, Jackson said the disease affects his balance on stage and sometimes leaves him feeling “uncomfortable.”
After his diagnosis, Jackson kicked off his farewell tour, “Last Call: One More for the Road.” The tour wrapped up with his last show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 17, 2025 — closing out an incredible chapter in country music.
The Finale Sells Out Immediately
His very last show was set for June 27th at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.
Joining Alan Jackson for this emotional send-off was a lineup packed with country music’s biggest stars. Fans at the sold-out show got to see performances from George Strait, Lainey Wilson, Carrie Underwood, Riley Green, and more.

Tickets for “The Finale” sold out almost the moment they went on sale in October 2025. Reports say all 55,000 seats were gone during the presale alone — proof of just how much Jackson’s music still means to people everywhere.
70,000 People Remember 9/11 During Jackson’s Farewell Show
Jackson released “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” in 2001, right after the September 11 attacks. He wrote it after someone asked how he felt about what happened, and the song captured the grief so many Americans were feeling that day.
Over the years, it’s become one of his most powerful and meaningful songs. His performance of it during the farewell show ended up being one of the most unforgettable moments of the night.
The whole stadium lit up with phone lights as Jackson led everyone through the song together. A total of 2,977 people died in the September 11, 2001 attacks — one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in modern history.
