The rock icon, best known as the frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away on July 22 at the age of 76. He had lived with Parkinson’s disease for years, but the official cause of death was a heart attack.

Following his death, fans gathered at the Black Sabbath bench in Birmingham to honor him. The spot quickly filled with flowers, handwritten notes, and small keepsakes. On July 30, during Ozzy’s public funeral procession, his wife Sharon and their children stopped at the tribute to lay flowers of their own.

A few days later, West Midlands Police reported that 45-year-old Parviz Jafari had been arrested and charged with taking flowers from the site. His court appearance is set for September 3.

The Birmingham City Council has been collecting all the items left by fans. Everything is being photographed and sorted before being given to the Osbourne family. According to the BBC, the flowers will be mulched and later scattered near Ozzy’s grave.

The day after the public farewell, Ozzy was laid to rest in a private ceremony at his Buckinghamshire home, about two hours from Birmingham.

The guest list included music friends such as Rob Zombie, Elton John, and Yungblud, along with his Black Sabbath bandmates Terence “Geezer” Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward.

Since the funeral, Ozzy’s children have spoken publicly to thank fans for their kindness. His daughter Kelly shared:

“The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.“

His son Jack posted a heartfelt video filled with personal moments he shared with his father. On YouTube, he wrote:

“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much. I’ll keep this short because he hated long, rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was lucky and blessed to be part of a very small group who got to call him ‘Dad.’ My heart is heavy with sadness and sorrow, but also full of love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man, and I know what a blessing that is.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy will live on through his music, his influence, and the countless lives he touched.
